The Issue

Our own communities are being attacked by the language of our leaders. The president’s use of the term “alien” on an official government platform(Aliens.gov) dehumanizes us—U.S.-born citizens, immigrants, and all communities of color. This is not just about one group—it’s about all of us. We must stand together, not tear each other down. Why It Matters:This is bigger than a single policy—it’s about the future of our nation. When we dehumanize each other, we fracture the very fabric of who we are as a country. I ask you to sign, to speak up, and to demand that we treat every American with dignity. Together, we can stop this cycle and build a nation where all of us belong. We call on Brad Schneider, Dick Durbin, Mayor Sam Cunningham, and members of the Waukegan City Council to publicly address and stand against the use of dehumanizing language on official government platforms, and to defend the dignity of the communities they represent.
