Ask St Agnes Parish Council to rethink parking charges at Trelawney Road car park.

The Issue

St Agnes Parish council are introducing parking charges at Trelawney Road Car Park (library car par) in February with little consultation of the community. Although a survey was carried out, the residents who would be directy affected were not made aware of the survey.

This will have a huge impact on the local residents who live around the car park and in St Agnes. There is already limited parking for residents and this charge will encourage more people to park on the free parking direct across from the car park.

Objections have been turned down and the reason given is that priority should be given to visitors to the village and there should be a high turn over of cars in the car park. Cornwall Council have refused to give permits to residents who lose their only parking option and to creating residents only parking.

The village is already under pressure from the influx of cars every summer and this will only further impact the people who rely on street parking outside their homes.

We are asking the council to reconsider and come up with a parking plan for local residents. For example residents parking only on the streets around the carpark.
