Save Harston Woods and Open Space in Springfield Township

Save Harston Woods and Open Space in Springfield Township
The Issue
I am a resident of Springfield Township and I urge my Commissioners to protect the 4.7 acres of woodland and open space at 380 - 402 Haws Lane. The proposed developments by MEH Investments are unacceptable (30 3-story townhouses or a Behavioral Health and Rehab facility), conflict with the esthetic and goals of our neighborhoods, and will destroy the last natural woodland and thriving ecosystem in our community. This area has no local parkland or environmental preserve for our families to enjoy. This lot is an ideal location for a community park and must be preserved.
The overdevelopment of our township and loss of open space and trees degrades our quality of life, impacts the value of our homes, and contributes to environmental decay in Springfield Township.
As a resident, I support the Board's move to secure the 4.7 acres through eminent domain.
