The names and traditions of these schools are stolen from the culture of Native American tribes. Both logos are of Chiefs in headdresses. Cherokee’s mascot is the “Indians” and Kickapoo's is the “Chiefs”. At the high schools football games a shirtless student Wearing a large headdress runs through the tipi and across the field, with the full team following. There are many other names and way to show school pride without cultural appropriation. I suggest the renaming of the school should be either famous Missourians or more importantly civil right activists.
