Spread awareness on the disadvantages of Pre-Marital Sex

Spread awareness on the disadvantages of Pre-Marital Sex
The Issue
WHAT IS PRE-MARITAL SEX?
Pre-Marital Sex is a sexual activity performed by people before their marriage. It is a
sexual relation between two people prior to marrying each other, or a sexual activity an individual is
involved prior to getting married. In many cultures and religions, pre-marital sex is considered a sin and
a moral issue since it is against the true essence of marriage. On the other half, it has become accepted
by certain liberal movements, especially in Western countries since the 1960s. Pre-Marital Sex have
advantages, such as it helps you recognize sexual problems, which may help you to work on it or seek
help. Although some of its advantages are tempting you to agree on this issue, this study/advocacy will
mainly focus on the disadvantages of pre-marital sex and why it shouldn’t be performed.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF OUR ADVOCACY?
This advocacy focuses on the disadvantages and consequences of pre-marital sex, as it may
bring a negative impact on people’s lives especially on teenagers which might be involved in an early
pregnancy because of the lack of knowledge and awareness about pre-marital sex. This advocacy’s
purpose is also to show and describe the cons of pre-marital sex such as unwanted pregnancy, teenage
pregnancy, sexually-transmitted infections, HIV and AIDS, regrets, guilt, loss of self-respect, and many
more.
WHAT IS THE AIM OF OUR ADVOCACY?
This advocacy aims to educate people—especially teens on the consequences and disadvantages of pre-marital sex as they are more likely to suffer and endure the consequences more
than the adults. This study’s target audience are people with less education about pre-marital sex and its
impact on their lives. Other than this, the teenagers should also be the main focus since pre-marital sex
can result to teenage pregnancy which is a major issue in the Philippines. This advocacy can be done by
performing multiple symposiums and seminars on local barangays, schools, and any other institutions.
Public engagements should also be present so that many people are educated and are aware about the
issue.
