More government funding is necessary to support victims of domestic violence. This petition is to request that the State of Maine budget for more funding for survivors. 

Many individuals suffer in silence, are afraid to speak out due to fear of retaliation or not being believed. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner physical violence. It's crucial that we create a supportive environment where victims feel safe to share their stories and seek help. I've personally watched family members and friends suffer from abusive relationships, and I think it would help people so they don't feel alone.
