Remove “Donald Trump” by Mac Miller from music streaming platforms.

Remove “Donald Trump” by Mac Miller from music streaming platforms.
The Issue
Mac Miller released “Donald Trump” in 2011 at the beginning of his music career. At the time, Donald Trump was known for his role in business and real estate management. In 2015, President Donald Trump announced his candidacy for the 2016 election as a Republican candidate.
Before his candidacy, moments of his inappropriate conduct were mostly unaddressed by the media and public. Instead, he was regarded as a successful business figure as opposed to his later position as a politician with a controversial history. Ergo, Mac Miller was likely motivated to produce his song “Donald Trump” as a message to the public that he had the potential and desire to become a noteworthy individual to the public as a celebrity musician.
In his appearance on The Nightly Show in 2016, Mac Miller delivered a powerful and emotional message beginning with “I only have one thing to say: I F*cking Hate You, Donald Trump.” Mac Miller then proceeds to tell the audience how much he regrets making his song now that Donald Trump’s “true colors” have been revealed and how much he hates him. Furthermore, he wished that his audience would be motivated by his public residence of the possible insinuation that Donald Trump was a successful individual to be admired to support another presidential candidate instead. He concluded with a statement that no matter what, he loves America and wouldn’t give it up to “you b*tch [Donald Trump].”
Through his speech and as part of the thoughtful, empathetic character he was, I strongly believe that posthumously, Mac Miller would appreciate if his song was mostly forgotten by his fans and new listeners. I believe that if someone really wanted to listen to the song, they can find it elsewhere on the Internet. I stand by the belief Mac Miller regretted releasing the song and that it only served as a no longer important part of musical career and journey.
Through this petition, I hope that major music platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music will consider removing the song from their platform with the permission of the Miller family and management. By signing the petition, I believe you will help support Mac Miller’s political views and personal values. I believe that his wishes to no longer appear to support, or bring support, to the now 2020 presidential candidate would be honored.
