Sportscard Availability Equality
The Issue
Tired of going to Wal-Mart, Target or any other retailer to find your favorite sports cards, only to see an empty shelf like this? This petition aims to help solve that problem by getting the retail giants to acknowledge and at least hear our dilemma and come to action by allowing ONLY 1 or 2 ITEMS PER CUSTOMER and/or encouraging retailers to stock additional trading card products. Reps cutting back door deals and not even letting product hit shelves has been a concern. The fact retailers don't control or monitor one of their unit’s most valuable items in a locked case or 1/2 per customer should be concerning for safety and ethical reasons. Kids wanting to collect basketball cards have NO CHANCE! Cards are essentially currency floating around the store and it should be cause for concern because of the value.
Many people are not able to find ANY product, as unlimited buying is the status quo, driving prices to 2 -10 times retail. Vendors and distributors are doing their job but we need the retail giants to understand. Whether contracts or volume changes, something should be done to make the product available to more consumers.
This is not a demand, but simply a conversation starter to help save a timeless hobby many people have enjoyed over decades. Whether it be a manufacturer, supplier, distributor or retail oriented problem, we need to bring light to what is going on. While capitalism is the pursuit of the dollar, we need to protect and help preserve and save certain aspects of our society instead of letting product vultures price the hobby out of existence. We are defining BUSINESS ETHICS not capitalism here.
Sign this petition today if you want a FAIR market for your collectible sports cards! The status quo needs to evolve and this is where it all starts!
