Golf courses have been advised to close all over the Republic of Ireland, this is an absolute disgrace as golf is one of the safest sports you can play. 

Golfers can easily social distance on the course and abide by any government rules/restrictions provided the golf club is within the 5km limit. Clubs all over the country already have procedures in place to ensure that golf can be played safely with minimum contact, for example the removal of rakes, bins on course, one way systems put in place, clubhouses being closed along with many more.

For many people myself included golf is the only way where I can escape the goings on of day to day life. 

Along with all the physical and mental health benefits of the game, I just don't understand how sports like soccer, GAA etc can be aloud to continue, but a game with no contact or even close to contact that is played out doors has been stopped.
