Support Black Student Athletes fulfill their dreams:

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) offer life-changing athletic scholarships for high school athletes, especially those not able to afford the college tuition.

Due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, HBCU-funded football games this fall are in jeopardy of shutting down without any fans. Morehouse College in Atlanta canceled their football season due to coronavirus pandemic.
The main source of revenue from football comes from the fans.

The revenue from college football also supports programs such as volleyball and softball.

As a kicking coach at a predominately African-American high school and a passionate fan, I have seen first-hand what this means to the young athletes relying on a HBCU scholarship to access further education. For some, they have been working towards this goal their whole school-life and without the prospect of financial help, their dreams are shattered.
It is important that we also don’t forget the marching bands, a huge part of the HBCU game day experience, who without football games lose their stage and opportunity for recognition.

In light of the Black Lives Matter protests, I hope that you can join me in supporting and bringing awareness to black students and their peers to make sure that we continue to offer more opportunities, not take them away.
