La Mesilla residents who are against turning a rural residential area into a car repair shop, please sign this petition.

Notice of a public hearing was received less than Five days prior to the actual public hearing and some never received the notice, giving limited time for La Mesilla residents the ability to attend the meeting close to  where they live meaning the next public meeting would take place in Tierra Amarilla, over an hour drive for residence to be able to attend.  

The notice reads that the Rio Arriba county planning and zoning committee will conduct a public hearing to consider the special use permit requested by Colin Dickinson representing performance safety cages LLC to operate a vehicle uplifting shop in a 3.65 acre parcel at 217 State Rd. 399 Espanola, New Mexico. Performance safety cages LLC is located in Los Alamos New Mexico. 

This business will impact the flow and feel of our rural residential neighborhood. The feel of our neighborhood is why we all chose to purchase homes and live here.  This automotive repair shop will add Traffic to Our narrow Road, Create noise, soil and water pollution.  The five days is not enough to allow residence the ability to gather important information on how this will impact our neighborhood.  No information has been given to us as to how this business will safely dispose of the byproducts from the business or how they plan to limit exess noise and traffic.
