We Support Lauren Boebert

The Issue

We the undersigned, wish to convey our SUPPORT for Lauren Boebert, representing CD-3 in the US House of Representatives. Rep. Boebert promised during her campaign to be the voice of the people, and we believe she is fulfilling this promise.

First, Representative Boebert’s actions have been lawful, constitutional, and with the support of those who elected her in her home district. It is laughable to hear people calling her actions “unconstitutional.” How exactly can a process be outlined in the US Constitution and be simultaneously considered unconstitutional?

The following representatives objected to the 2016 electoral votes in various states, without evidence, without legal standing, and without the backing of a Senator:

  • Rep. Jim McGovern of Massachusetts (D)
  • Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland (D)
  • Rep. Pramila Jayapa of Washington (D)
  • Rep. Barbara Lee of California (D)
  • Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas (D)
  • Rep. Raul Grijalva of Arizona (D)
  • Rep. Maxine Waters of California (D)

Conversely, the remarks Rep. Boebert gave on Jan 6 were ALL TRUE. There was NO misinformation or conspiracy theories in her speech. Perhaps those claiming the contrary have not read the speech, you can do so HERE.

Further, the electoral votes from Arizona WERE worthy of objection. The US Constitution grants sole right to crafting of election law to the State legislatures. It does not say that clerks, committees, or even judges can rewrite, modify, or alter election laws in any way.

Sadly, the process in Arizona was corrupted by a hyper-partisan judge...and this happened all across the country. Either having free and fair elections matters to you, or it does not. As Rep. Boebert said on Jan 6 “If we allow State election laws as set forth by the State legislatures to be ignored and manipulated on the whims of partisan lawsuits, unelected bureaucrats, unlawful procedures, and arbitrary rules, then our constitutional Republic will cease to exist.

Secondly, with full support of her constituents, Rep. Boebert has exercised her Second Amendment rights in a manner which makes those who voted for her proud. With the normalization of political violence by the Left over the past several years, and having seen the angry mobs attempt to attack Congressmen and Senators such as Rand Paul, we believe Rep. Boebert has every right to be lawfully armed and to defend herself if need arises.

Lauren may be small in stature, but her heart is big, and with the ultimate equalizing protection endowed by the Second Amendment she will not be intimidated, threatened, or silenced by fascistic thugs and mobs who are given free rein in the Nation's capital. We applaud her courage, and fully recognize her right to be armed while representing us in Washington D.C.

And finally, the idea that Rep. Boebert has incited or coordinated ANY type of violence is completely absurd. If every elected official is going to be investigated and/or prosecuted for using passionate speech, such as: “fight for our rights” and “standing up to politicians,” we simply will not have a government. Hard pressed you will be, if tasked with finding an elected official, at any level, who has not used this type of language.

Rep. Boebert is not responsible for any part of the violence that ensued on Jan 6, just like President Obama was not responsible for the actions of Micah Johnson when he shot six police officers in Dallas in 2016. Even though President Obama made many remarks demonizing police, which significantly raised the political temperature, and could easily be considered inflammatory, if an overt call for violence was not made, then he is NOT responsible for the violence that followed.

Similarly, Senator Bernie Sanders was not responsible for James Hodgkinson firing 60 rounds at Republican lawmakers and gravely injuring the U.S. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise in 2017. Even though Sen. Sanders repeatedly told his followers lies of Republicans denying people basic human rights and wishing death on elderly Americans, he did not overtly call for violence, so he is NOT responsible for the violence that followed.

Keeping the same standard today seems to be difficult for our friends on the political Left.

The constant smears and actions directed at silencing our elected officials must stop. Disgusting attempts to link all Republican's actions to White Supremacy and to the violence on Jan 6 are nothing more than political games, hoping to make Americans blind to what has really happened in Washington D.C. Thankfully, a majority of Americans can see through this political slight of hand and recognize those who are engaged in this ridiculousness are only doing so because they can not compete in the arena of ideas.

We stand with Representative Boebert, as she takes on the difficult task of standing up to the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats in Washington DC. We support her as she continues to fight for the rights of those who elected her. And we applaud her courage and determination as she faces this monumental duty she has accepted.

Keep fighting Lauren, the good people of CD-3 love and appreciate you!
