Petitioning Representative Paul Cook and 4 others

Speaker Boehner: Do YOU Agree That Americans Should Be Separate But Equal?

We are White; We are Black; We are Multi-ethnic; We are Hispanic; We are Asian; We are straight; We are lesbian; We are gay; We are blue and white collard workers; We are northern; We are southern; We are western; We are mid-western; We are atheist; We are agnostic; We are Muslim; We are Jewish; We are Christian; and WE THE PEOPLE are fed up with the destructive actions and vile rhetoric in the Republican party.

Are you really fed up? Are you horrified at the blatant expression of racism expressed by this current brand of Republicans?

Then take a stand by urging Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and Republican leaders to publicly repudiate the destructive actions and vile rhetoric from members within the Republican party.

Recently, at the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) a college Republican said during a breakout session that we should all be separate but equal and that black slaves should have been happy with being abused because their masters gave them food, shelter, and cloths.

It’s troubling to think that mainstream conservatives accept these ideas and that no one has publically repudiated these types of vile rhetoric.

Former Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) said during her CPAC speech that she was proud of college Republicans because they are “bold”. She also said that Republicans should not be interested in pragmatic politics and not rebranding the party. Sure sounds like Ms. Palin is out of touch and has done more damage in offering Americans a true two party debate.

If you believe in America then take a stand by urging Speaker Boehner to publicly repudiate ignorance because its destroying America and American liberty!

Letter to
Representative Paul Cook
Representative John Boehner
U.S. House of Representatives
and 2 others
U.S. Senate
President of the United States
I just signed the following petition addressed to: Speaker Boehner: Publicly Repudiate Ignorance…Its Destroying America & American Liberty
----------------
WE THE PEOPLE urge you to come out and publicly repudiate the destructive actions and vile rhetoric in American politics, because they do nothing to unite our country. Where are the Republican alternatives that appeal to mainstream America? We will never agree 100% of the time on policy in America; however, we need a strong second party! It’s American to have it. However, this vile rhetoric will and has scared off many voters. Have you traded pragmatic conservatism for marginalizing American citizens? It sure looks that way!

Recently, at the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) a college Republican said during a breakout session that we should all be separate but equal and that black slaves should have been happy with being abused because their masters gave them food, shelter, and cloths.

We the people would like to see you, Speaker Boehner, stand with Congresswoman Michele Bachman, Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Congresswoman Jean Schmidt, Senator David Vitter, and Governor Nathan Dael to publicly stand and dismiss these types of harmful rhetoric.

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell agrees. He said:

"Why aren’t Republican leaders shouting out about all this…nonsense…? They should speak out. This is the kind of intolerance that I’ve been talking about where these idiot presentations continue to be made and you don’t see the senior leadership of the party say, ‘No, that’s wrong.’ In fact, sometimes by not speaking out, they’re encouraging it. And the base keeps buying the stuff."

Since leaders and (or) out-spoken former politicians in your party have helped to fuel this kind of rhetoric, we think it’s only fare that a formal public repudiation occurs.

Besides, what are we teaching future generations of Americans? It seems that we are teaching young people that it’s okay to be a bigot. If you are a party that stands for all Americans, as you claim, then take a stand! We The People are counting on you.
