The previous tenant, an elderly woman, was asked to move out last November to a smaller home so that it could be freed up for families on the waiting list. But now it's up for sale! 

The house was, and is, in perfectly good habitable condition and it was previously adapted for use by a disabled person.

How can this be justified?

Housing Rebellion campaigners staged a sit-in at the house during an open viewing on Friday to demand it be removed from sale.

Hundreds of families in Hastings are living in temporary accommodation in desperate need of homes like this. Its a scandal that it will go to some cash-rich developer who will snap it up for a song, instead of remaining as a social-rented home. 

Police were called and we were forced to leave the property but we think the real crime here is selling off social housing!

Southern Housing must remove this house, and every home they are selling at auction, immediately and offer it to one of the many eligible families on the waiting list for a secure, affordable, social-rented home.
