On November 2nd, the Southeast Valley school board, a combination of Southeast Webster-Grand and Prairie Valley school districts, voted in favor of a mask mandate for all district facilities. This vote passed with a vote of 13-1.

According to notes from the meeting, 83% of high school and middle school staff, along with 72% of elementary staff were in favor of this mandate.

With the growing number of Covid-19 cases in Iowa, Webster and Calhoun counties, as well as our neighboring counties, this decision was made in the best interest of protecting students, teachers, staff as well as parents, grandparents, etc who are in contact with students.

This petition is to show support for the school board decision and to let them know we appreciate them taking steps to protect our students, teachers, and community. Petition is open to all residents of both districts and parents of those open enrolled.
