South Carolina should become the 24th state to make UTVs/SxSs registerable to be operated on public roadways!  

UTVs/SxSs are as, if not more, safe and capable as many other vehicles currently being operated on our South Carolina roadways, like motorcycles, mopeds, golfcarts, trikes, etc.  There's no reason that they should be excluded from this ability.   

By signing this petition, you'll help gather support from the SC General Assembly to pass Bill H3600 to include mid-sized utility vehicles, aka SXS or UTVs, for in-state road use and road-legal classification. 

South Carolina will not only benefit financially by receiving taxes and registration fees but will also allow new business opportunities such as SxS/UTV rentals, SxS aftermarket part sales and dealerships. 

23 other states have passed similar Bills allowing use of SxSs/UTVs on roadways with 55mph or under speed limits.  This would include all roadways in SC with the exception of Interstates.   

The bill was introduced in the SC General Assembly by Representative Ott in January 2021, It was referred to sub-committee in April of 2021. It is currently awaiting a meeting for clarification on some aspects of the bill.  It will be read again in January 2022. We want as many State Representatives to back this as we can!   Call your local state rep and request that they sponsor Bill H3600!
