NOW, MORE THAN EVER, OUR WOMEN’S AND CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL NEEDS YOUR HELP.

There is enormous concern in the medical community about chronic and escalating under-staffing and under-resourcing of South Australia’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

The lack of resources is threatening patient care and devastating staff morale.

There is no doubt these problems will reach intractable and even unsafe levels unless the State Government provides substantial funding to restore and maintain the high standard of care the public rightly expects of this iconic and proud hospital.

South Australia’s women and children deserve world class health services equal to or better than other states right here, close to home.

To help achieve this, a group of concerned former doctors, patients, consumer groups and others has initiated a petition to State Parliament.

We need your help.

Widespread community support is essential to the future of our hospital. As concerned citizens we urge you to sign our Petition, lobby your MPs and help draw this serious situation to the attention of the public.

THE SIGNATORIES TO THIS PETITION:

1. Urge the South Australian Government to:

(a) Fully resource the Women’s and Children’s Hospital to allow it to provide high quality, multidisciplinary care to the women and children of South Australia and;
(b) Facilitate and fund the involvement of front-line clinicians in the planning and commissioning of the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

2. Ensure that the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital will fulfill its role as a state of the art, world class hospital and centre of excellence.
