SA government provide informal settlers with basic human needs. Light, sanitation, water

The Issue

People who cannot afford to pay rent or apply for home loans and underprivileged South Africans and foreigners.

Families who are struggling to make ends meat. cannot afford to buy solar systems and apply for electricity from local government and water. In this time of this pademic most cannot work and do not receive UIF because most are working part-time and seasonal jobs. As a University student myself, we cannot charge phones or computer to write online exams and which are borrowed from someone. If they are able to change them, they must pay to charge them. Which can take hours because they are others charging from the same service provider. NSFAS as funder takes for ever to realise our funds which are not enough to buy books. I have not received my monthly allowance of R275 this year. Which is not enough on its own. It can only buy data and that all. They have closed they call center in this time of need. Where the poor are more in need at least the funds can help the family of the receipant to easy the burden off. When we e-mail them, they don't reply with data that cost us money which we do not have.

Even with the food parcel they take months before they supply the food which is not enough to provide for the whole family at least a month and some families end up not getting the food parcel.

Business are being affected which are next to the information settlement because we as community are using they infrastructure such as water pipes supply and electricity. Because government is delaying.

To build toilets are expensive and mobile toilets are dirt and unhygienic. Causing health problem.

This is not what we voted for. This month of May we were suppose to vote again.

SA government especially Department of Human Settlement please intervene. Some of us may not be able to write exams and others might die of hunger, business next to the community might close down and tax loss to the government, increasing corruption and abuse because of uncertainty.
