“Paediatric surgeon Dr Peter Beale, 73, and anaesthetist Dr Abdulhay Munshi, 56, have each been released on R10,000 bail. The matter has been postponed to 31 March 2020.”
“Magistrate Lucas van der Schyff granted permission for the court proceedings to be filmed after one of the legal representatives for the pair had objected to such, arguing that media coverage of the matter had been impartial and that the accused had been “vilified through the media”.
