The Official Release of Remaining Jeff Buckley Tracks

The Issue

Jeff Buckley is a beloved musical icon who remains incredibly influential to this day. In 1997, he drowned in the Wolf River, leaving behind a rich musical legacy that has influenced the likes of John Mayer, Bono, Jimmy Page, and Jason Mraz. He is considered responsible for the resurgence of the singer-songwriter movement of the late 90s and early 2000s and influences people from all art forms, not just music.

Buckley also left behind a large library of unreleased tracks, many of which Sony has already publicly released. However, many tracks remain officially unreleased, with a few only ever making waves on YouTube and through bootlegs. Fans have clamored for releases of tracks such as "Blue Sky Skin", which many of his collaborators have labeled as "significant". Better still are the tracks that have somehow leaked and gained significant attention for their rich musical quality and depth, but fans want a better mix and more professional release for such tracks.

Think of some artists that may have touched people on many levels: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd. For many Jeff Buckley ranks as one of those acts. He remains a deeply talented artist that has influenced the world over. Each of those artist's unreleased recordings have provided countless moments of inspiration when record labels decide to make the tracks available.

We are not petitioning for further leaks; we are petitioning for official releases for these tracks. We understand that some of these tracks are insignificant, but many of them are. With Buckley's passing reaching nearly 20 years, and demand for these tracks only increasing, it has only become more apparent that their eventual release is imminent. Many of these fans are clearly willing to pay money to hear these tracks.

Please help us convince Sony to release these tracks. It will only help cement the importance of music in our artistic world and help influence other artists to do the same.
