The speed of traffic up and down Whatcombe Road, past the entrance to Whatcombe Community fields, is frightening. Our community fields are enjoyed by families from across Frome and it's time to make our neighbourhood safer for all. 

Whatcombe Road may not have a high volume of traffic, but it's used as a fast cut through, which is posing a danger to those accessing the fields. It causes a disturbance to those who live nearby, with the noise of the speeding cars echoing in the valley, which also creates a negative environmental impact through excessive pollution. Where Whatcombe Road meets Welshmill Lane, there is traffic calming located here due to the nearby schools, but where the road opens up before the top of Whatcombe Road, is where the speed gets dangerous. 

After a conversation with Frome Town Council, we already have support from them, but for Somerset County Highways to consider looking into traffic calming near the Whatcombe Community Fields, we need to show support from the local community - this is where you come in!
