Solid waste segregation, the positioning of segregated trash bins in Brokenshire College

Solid waste segregation, the positioning of segregated trash bins in Brokenshire College
The Issue
The Philippines' garbage generation is anticipated to continue to rise in the coming years. Reviewing related issues with the nation's solid waste management. So in order to lessen the waste we plan to implement separate trash bins in every classroom to segregate the biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclable waste. So that it is more convenient to recycle waste and trash that cannot be recycled is put into the garbage dump.
The campaign’s mission and vision are to take a step in reducing trash and encourage the students of Brokenshire College to segregate the trash accordingly, and to provide convenient recycling with the help of the designated trash bins for recyclables. In implementing this campaign we envision that every student and staff of Brokenshire College will segregate their trash accordingly and lessen the number of trash that our school produces by 10% per month.
This campaign is extremely relevant not only to the school but also to the world. The Philippines produces 2.7 million tons of plastic waste each year and the result of effective waste segregation 13.5% of the waste is recycled. So if we implement this in Brokenshire College, we can reduce the trash that our school produces. Not only that, but this campaign also helps the students of Brokenshire College to be responsible for their own trash in a way that everyone is tasked to throw their trash according to its specific bin.
This campaign plans to place three labeled trash bins namely: biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclable within the campus and in every classroom. To encourage people to properly segregate their trash, every bin has a visual representation of waste belonging to the specified bin. For example, images of plastic water bottles, plastic caps, cartons, plastic, and metal containers are placed in the recyclable trash bins. The images placed on the trash bins are important for people to be guided on where their trash belongs. The proper segregation of trash might not be effective immediately but as we encourage one another to segregate their trash in their respective bins, proper waste disposal and segregation will become a habit of Brokenshirians in the future. In addition to that, if someone is in need of materials, the recyclable labeled bin is free to access as recycling is one of the ways of reducing trash.
For this campaign to be possible, we are in need of trash bins (3 per area) big-sized ones outside of the classrooms and medium-sized bins inside the classrooms, flyers, and printed images of biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclable.
