Notice Idiopathic Hypersomnia as a legit "disability"

The Issue

Idiopathic Hypersomnia is a real thing! I suffer from it myself. I also suffer trying to support my family, as it is hard to hold down a job with my disorder. You can read my story here at:

On the days that i can't manage to stay awake, is another call in.

Every day that i call in, is another day closer to losing my income.

Everyday is a struggle and I know I am not alone.

We suffer in silence, because who really cares enough to listen to our "excuses"?

Have you every experienced the torture or agony of fighting your sleep or even being scared to fall asleep, because you're not sure when you're gonna wake up?

What about the stress of knowing something you can't control determines if you'll make your light bill payment on time?

Have you ever had to go to your boss with your head hung low while you attempted to explain why you were late for the fourth time in a single month or why you didn't call in two hours prior to your shift?

No?

That's what i thought. We should not have to struggle the way we do to be able to support ourselves. Its pure torture. We deserve to be able to apply for SSI/disability without having to jump through so many hoops with doctors along with getting denied time after time.

Idiopathic Hypersomnia is not on the list of "eligible disabilities" and it's not FAIR!

I'm sick of suffering in SILENCE! It ends now!

Justice for Idiopathic Hypersomnia!
