All low income housing units received a letter today stating that we have to remove air conditioners from our windows, as we are not allowed to have our windows open for prolonged times. They mention in the letter that we are allowed one portable air conditioner per floor.

Being in nb housing while (some) are on assistance means that we receive cheques for between 590-995 a month, depending on how many dependents we have. The cost of a portable air conditioner unit is approximately 350$ most of us cannot afford this extra cost.

Some of us have asthma and cannot sleep in the heat of the summer. We deserve to have the right to own an air conditioner and not suffer of the heat all summer. Please help to have our voices heard over this concern..please support by signing this.
