UNINCORPORATED SNOHOMISH COUNTY NEEDS TO JOIN FORCES NOW!! TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW AND SPREAD THE WORD
There is a huge problem! A handful of advocates for the Conservation & Preservation Society, a non-profit corporation (CAPS), have personally invested thousands of dollars (legal/expert fees) and thousands of volunteer hours to advocate for county residents, opposing irresponsible development. Irresponsible County development is out of control, and infrastructure for roads, schools, and emergency services is increasingly inadequate to meet the growing needs of current and future residents who will move into high-density developments in rental apartments, and townhome complexes. This irresponsible development is at the behest of the Snohomish County Executive, Council, and Planning & Development Services (PDS).
It is time to file a Superior Court lawsuit - one to address alleged illegal activities. For more than eight months, volunteer advocates using the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) have been demanding and pouring through thousands of public records from the County. Recent documents support filing a lawsuit against the County, requiring more legal representation. For example, 2022 County ordinances conflict with the State's Environmental Protections Act (SEPA.) and much more. These new laws can allow developers to be exempt from the impacts of significant high-density residential developments. Such exemptions are proposed for Eastview Village (Cathcart West) near SR 9 and Snohomish Garden Townhomes (Paradise Lake Garden Apts.) near SR 522. Given just this information (there is much more), it can be assumed our tax dollars are being used to grant developers permits that will denigrate fragile ecosystems and not address adequate infrastructures, like roads and schools, essential to support residents. IT IS TIME TO TAKE ACTION!
STOPPING MANY OF THESE PROJECTS WILL REQUIRE FILING A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE COUNTY-WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER
If you want to protect unincorporated Snohomish County, please support funding the Superior Court lawsuit. It will require legal/expert representation, we can’t do this without you, and any amount helps. Please contribute now.
