Two human rights advocates, Spencer Hayes from "Be Rosie" blog and Mary Monda Oewel, have created this petition to urge Snapchat/Bitmoji to create a gender neutral option for users. Currently, Bitmoji only provides users with the option of a female or male avatar with a limited selection of non-binary clothing/physical characteristics/accessories. Making this change is not only important to the LGBTQ+ community, but also society as an entirety to encourage a more accepting outlook towards all.  

Motivations:

Mary Monda Oewel: "As someone who identifies as a part of the LGBTQ+ community, I took this very hard. It is important to me that we are creating a safe space for identities online and in society"

Spencer Hayes: "As someone who strongly believes in creating a world where individuality is valued, I believe that ensuring that there is inclusivity, even in the smallest of means, is vital."
