SMYRNA DESERVES BETTER: Drop the new logo and go back to the drawing board
The Issue
The City of Smyrna leaders have introduced a new branding and logo that was created by a firm in Tennessee that doesn't even understand our DNA.
The logo lacks character, erases the beloved jonquil flower and is being met with widespread public outcry on social media. We ask that the city scrap this new logo, listen to its citizens and offer up a new design that better reflects our heritage, our character, our warmth and our future.
We deserve a logo that represents the soul of our citizens and makes us proud, not some sterile design by consultants who don't even live here.
We ask that the Mayor and Council humbly acknowledge the concerns already voiced by hundreds of citizens in a matter of hours, revisit their decision and instead hire local talent and come back with something much more representative of the city's character before they spend even more taxpayer dollars to implement this logo in physical and digital assets across the city.
