SMUHSD Superintendent Scott Laurence: Request that Mills' Administration take action to release cancelled AP scores.

The Issue

Due to the negligence of Mills High School's Administration in regards to testing security and procedures, 11 AP tests have seen student's scores cancelled and not released by the ETS (a contractor for CollegeBoard). The signers of this petition call upon the Superintendent of the SMUHSD, as well as the administration of Mills to get our scores back so that we do not have to retest these APs.

Graduating students need these scores to be able to save money in college, and get into advanced classes, as well as skip introductory classes in college that they have already completed by taking vigorous AP courses. Teachers have prepared their students the entire year for these exams, and to have them cancelled at the last minute before students are sent off to college is unacceptable.

CollegeBoard and the ETS need to stand up for their actions and be more flexible with the school. It is unreasonable to offer retests in a time where many people are on summer vacation, and are unavailable to get a new score. It is also not fair to give such short notice to students in regards to a retake.

Thank you for your attention to this issue, and we hope to reach our goal of 2000 signatures.
