Smith College is not providing adequate nutrition for the celiac students on campus. (Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease that can only treated by adhering to a strict gluten free diet. More information can be found here: http://celiac.org/celiac-disease/what-is-celiac-disease/) They have resisted measures to dedicate a clean kitchen facility to the production of truly gluten free foods.We have been told that the needs of the minority cannot dictate the needs of the majority. What we're asking for is something most college students in the country don't even have to think about. We have the right under the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) to equal access to all privileges provided by the college. This includes access to adequate nutrition. Please help us secure our future.
