As motorists are feeling the need to drive faster on local streets, the possibility of accidents occurring increases. Some side streets which are lengthy invite many to proceed at a speed which could be unsafe, should the need to avoid children arise.

Lowering the speed on these side streets to 25mph would exponentially decrease the odds of accidents occurring. Seconds added are outweighed by personal safety with the lower speeds.
