Slayer: Hire Mike Clark from Suicidal Tendencies as the new guitarist

The Issue

We understand that Jeff Hanneman is dead and that Slayer is currently without a permanent replacement for him. We also understand that Gary Holt of Exodus is not Jeff's permanent replacement and may not even appear on the band's next record. While Slayer is moving forward towards exciting and challenging directions, a band without a guitarist can lack a certain things, no matter how strong a muscle or a human heart may be. Therefore, we would like to issue this enthusiastic and hearty recommendation that Slayer selects former Mike Clark (formerly of Suicidal Tendencies and No Mercy, currently of Waking the Dead) as their new rhythm and lead guitarist.

The reason Mike should join Slayer is because they have been good friends with Suicidal Tendencies since the early 1980's. Both Slayer and S.T. gained a much higher degree of popularity after thrash metal blasted into the airwaves. Slayer had met Mike when both bands participated in successful "Clash of the Titans" tour in 1990 package with Megadeth and Testament, and Kerry King stated in the February 2010 issue of Guitar World that "Lights...Camera...Revolution!" was his favorite S.T. record, and enjoyed hanging out with them during that tour with Megadeth and Testament. Like Jeff, Mike has the skill, sense, and style to fit his guitar solos within the needs of a song, propelling it or reigning it as necessary. As you can see, Mike is a top notch candidate for the new guitarist of Slayer in honor of Jeff. He receives our full endorsement and we formally request that they select him as a new member of the Slayer family. Jeff would have been proud of Mike for keeping Slayer alive as a way to remember him.

[For anyone's concern: We have no connection, affiliation, or personal contact with either Mike Clark, Suicidal Tendencies, Slayer any of their agents. We are simply just fans of Mike.]
