A kid was bullied until he felt he had to use his skateboard as a weapon. Now skateboards are being banned and most skaters feel like the ONLY other choice is to put their boards in a dusty and damp storage closet. Which with time rots our boards and the dirt and dust get in our wheels. It is not fair for our skateboards to be taken and put somewhere so cruel. As FUSD students who are skaters, we are getting together to NOT only unban skateboards but also get better storage for our boards. We are launching a petition to unban skateboards and establish a safe space for their use in our school. Skateboarding is a popular form of transportation and promotes a healthy, active lifestyle, encourages creativity, and fosters a sense of community among riders. By signing this petition, you support the idea that everyone should have access to safe, designated areas to put their skateboards without fear of it getting stolen at school.
