CUTTACK was the old capital city of Odisha. History of CUTTACK goes back to 1000 years. It is the main commercial hub of the state.

BHUBANESWAR was planned as a capital during later part of Sixties due to the fact that CUTTACK was surrounded by rivers both sides. But CUTTACK remained the nerve center of culture, sports and education.Apart from Ravenshaw University, Shailabala Woman's College, SCB Medical College, Madhusudan Law College, Ravishankar University, Judicial Academy and many more old academic institutions, Cuttack has the unique location for various directorates like Director General of Police, Director of Industries, Director of Technical Education & training, Directorate of AH & Veterinary Services, Directorate of Fisheries and many more directorates. Apart from that the ODISHA HIGH COURT is also located at Cuttack.

It is the city which has produced Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan Das, Legendary People's leader Biju Pattanaik and many illustrious personalities of the state.

BHUBANESWAR was developed being the capital city and the present Government nourishing it as a Smart City. Being twin city, we believed at a later date Cuttack shall also be decorated with the Smart City ornaments and enjoy the facilities as availed at Bhubaneswar. The twin City has one Police Commissioner.

Gradually both the cities are almost expanded from all sides and within another five year, there shall be no more gap between the two.

Most unfortunately the state Government is contemplating to shift the Directorates located at Cuttack to Bhubaneswar. There is no rationale in such move as the distance between centers of both the cities is only 25 kilometer. This shall not only involve lot of money for developing infrastructure but also act as a deterrent for growth and development of the state. 

WE THE CUTTACKIANS THEREFORE STRONGLY PROTEST THIS DECISION OF GOVERNMENT AND SHALL NOT SUCCUMB TO ANY PRESSURE TO ALLOW THAT TO HAPPEN.

MANY ORGANIZATIONS HAVE PROTESTED TOO.

BEFORE THIS IS TRANSFORMED INTO A PEOPLE'S AGITATION ,WE REQUEST OUR DEAR CHIEF MINISTER TO DISPENSE WITH THIS IDEA OF SHIFTING DIRECTORATES FROM CUTTACK. GOVERNMENT SHOULD COME OUT WITH AGREESIVE PLAN FOR BEAUTIFICATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS MILLENIUM CITY.

GOVERNMENT MUST FOCUS IN MAKING "CUTTACK BHUBANESWAR" A TWIN SMART CITY,SO THAT PEOPLE OF CUTTACK SHALL ALWAYS REMEMBER NAVEEN BABU AS THE TRUE SON OF A LEGENDARY FATHER.
