Amusement parks to allow PROPERLY SECURED hands free cameras on rides
Many amusement parks do not allow their guests to be allowed to film while riding roller coasters and other various thrill rides , mostly due to safety concerns. However, few parks such as Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, Knoebels Resort, and Disney Parks allow their guests to film. Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, and Knobels all have a hands free camera policy posted on their website that allow their guests to film freely without having to submit a request each time they visit the park. Most guests want to be able to share their family footage with friends and family on social media while having a fun day at the amusement park. However, many parks such as Six Flags, Cedar Fair, Holliday World, Dollywood, Silver Dollar City, Kennywood, Hershey Park, and several others will not allow their guests to film while riding.
Some parks like Universal Studios, Universal Islands of Adventure, Cedar Point, and King's Dominion have gone as far as installing metal detectors at the entrances of various roller coasters to prevent any lose articles being taken on their rides.
With technology constantly changing cameras are getting smaller, phones are able to have better cameras, and many amusement parks are refusing to allow their guests to capture their adventures while on thrill rides. By simply having a hands free camera policy in place, it would help deter the use of cell phones and lose cameras that could seriously cause injury to guests and hopefully promote safe on ride filming.
