Ever since the covid crisis, our children who study in Sishya OMR school in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, have been unable to attend school. The children and us, their parents have been very happy with the school and the level of commitment shown by the teachers and staff in the school. The school had started classes using Zoom and then suddenly changed to Zoho meetings. The app is meant for webinars and such and is not the right medium for students to interact and learn.

After summer vacations, Sishya OMR then introduced Zoho Classes, as an app which we need to download to keep up to date with the class schedule. All class teachers are supposed to update their daily sessions in the form of live (Zoho meeting) or pre recorded - Zoho classes which tend to be Youtube videos and the such.

The app is obviously in beta. The app is being tested on our kids as it obviously in the experimental stage so that Zoho can have a school as their beta customer to fix the issues with the app. Feeds don't refresh, what teachers post get lost and not distributed to all. After multiple complaints, we have been asked to write to the principal Meenakshi Nagraj ma'am. Even the teachers, who are being incredibly committed using this, are seeming very frustrated with the issues in the app.

When there are programs and apps that already exist that do a much better job of enabling teachers and parents and kids to manage the online classroom, we would like Sishya OMR to stop making our kids use this app and to go with something that actually works.

We urge Sishya OMR to do the right thing and to go with a better option rather than  Zoho Classes app.
