Good news, everyone!
An announcement was made today stating that home-based F&B businesses, among some other businesses and services, will be allowed to continue operations from 12 May onwards!
You can read more about this on ST, CNA, Yahoo!.
The gist is - the National Development Minister and Health Minister have announced that since community cases have been decreasing, regulations can be gradually relaxed. So, selected businesses can continue operations on some ground rules.
For instance, businesses and services that continue operating from 12 May must use the SafeEntry app to facilitate contact tracing.
Another is compliance with social distancing measures. We're not sure what the regulations for home-based businesses specifically are but a list of measures from SMCCI's data collection survey (conducted from 28 to 30 April, now closed) gives us a general idea:
1. Comply with regulations implemented by authorities
2. Comply with provisions made under the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020
3. Use only contactless delivery methods
4. Use only cashless payment methods
5. Operate only with persons living within the same household
6. Restrict delivery windows to minimise movement
All in all, this is amazing news! Home-based F&B business owners will get back their source of income and customers can enjoy their home-made treats, safely and responsibly.
We truly hope the numbers will continue going down so that this can happen.
Our fund-raising campaign is still ongoing here so if you want and are able to donate to home-based F&B business owners who are struggling, you still can!
Thank you all for the support and the donations thus far. Once operations begin again, we can declare this petition closed!
