As a single parent in Christiansburg, VA, I have experienced firsthand the struggles of attempting to secure reliable, affordable childcare. Having injuriously left my job in July 2023 while heavily pregnant, the ensuing financial hardship has been daunting. After giving birth to my son in August of 2023, the past few months I have repetitively encountered obstacles in my quest to find dependable daycare for my son. Despite working a weekend job, the lack of consistent childcare has vastly complicated my situation.

Regrettably, I am not alone in this difficult situation. There are countless other single parents facing similar struggles, trying to balance earning a living and providing proper care for their children.
