Signature Sheet for Palestinian Parents of Children Born in the UK
The Issue
This signature sheet is intended to gather the signatures of Palestinian parents whose children were born in the United Kingdom and who have been unable to obtain Palestinian birth certificates or register their children through the Palestinian Embassy in the UK.
We are Bisan Muhra and Shoukri Alsultan, the parents of Majed Alsultan, who was born in London on 11 March 2026.
Like many Palestinian parents living abroad, we have been unable to obtain a Palestinian birth certificate or complete the registration of our son through the Palestinian Embassy in the UK. Many of you may also have seen the statement issued by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates that the registration process requires the child to be registered through the relevant authorities in the West Bank or Gaza, which would require returning there, and which has been circulated by the social media accounts of Palestinian embassies in several countries.
As part of our asylum claim in the United Kingdom, we raised this issue to establish our son's circumstances and protect his right to have his legal and immigration status properly recognised.
It is therefore very important for us to provide evidence that this is not an issue affecting our family alone, but one experienced by other Palestinian families whose children were born in the UK.
We approached the Palestinian Embassy seeking written confirmation of the situation. However, we were unable to obtain such confirmation, as the matter was described to us as an “internal issue.”
We are therefore asking for your support.
If you are a Palestinian parent of a child born in the United Kingdom and you have also been unable to obtain a Palestinian birth certificate or register your child through the Palestinian Embassy in the UK, we kindly ask you to sign this sheet.
By collecting these signatures, we hope to demonstrate that this is a shared and recurring issue affecting Palestinian families in the UK, rather than an isolated experience concerning our family alone.
