Through this petition we would like to express our discontent and discomfort after the announcement made by our Site Leader, on Wednesday, September 28, regarding the decision not to consider an increase in the salary of our site.

We consider this resolution very unfair, because we always carry out our work with great dedication, care and responsibility, always giving the best of ourselves. Proof of this was that  the same day, Wednesday, September 28, facing a threat of storms and floods that was going to be caused as a result of Hurricane Ian, many of us went to our workplace to fulfill our obligations.

The UFL6 works in 3 different temperatures, 2 of which are extreme. Working 2 hours in the freezer, at a freezing temperature, is very difficult, especially when you feel that parts of your body are freezing. And working long hours at Chilled is not easy either, because not only you have to withstand the low temperature, but also the strong wind from the large fans that are located there.

On the other hand, we do not understand why the rising inflation in the Miami-Dade area has not been taken into consideration. The inflation rate for the 12 months ending in August 2022 is 10.7%, one of the highest in the United States, according to figures published by U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In addition, it is public knowledge that in other warehouses they will receive a salary increase.

This whole situation makes us feel very unmotivated, dissatisfied and frustrated, because we feel that all our effort to do an impeccable job for Amazon customers is undervalued.

For all the above, we would like the previous decision to be reevaluated, in order to provide a better solution to the current situation.

Por medio de la presente petición quisiéramos expresar nuestro descontento y malestar tras el anuncio que hizo nuestro Site Leader, el miércoles 28 de Septiembre, con respecto a la decisión de no considerar un aumento en el salario de nuestro site.

Consideramos esa resolución muy injusta, pues nosotros siempre desempeñamos nuestro trabajo con gran dedicación, cuidado y responsabilidad, entregando siempre, lo mejor de nosotros. Prueba de ello, fue que ese mismo día, miércoles 28 de Septiembre, ante una amenaza de tormentas e inundaciones que iban a ser provocadas a consecuencia del huracán Ian, muchos de nosotros acudimos a nuestro lugar de trabajo a cumplir con nuestras obligaciones.

En el UFL6 se trabaja en 3 temperaturas diferentes, 2 de las cuales son extremas. Trabajar 2 horas en el freezer, a una temperature de congelación, es muy difícil, sobre todo cuando sientes que partes de tu cuerpo se van congelando. Y trabajar largas jornadas en Chilled, tampoco es nada facil, porque no solo hay que soportar la baja temperatura, sino también el fuerte viento de los grandes ventiladores que allí se encuentran. 

Por otro lado, no entendemos por qué no se ha tomado en consideración la inflación creciente que hay en el área de Miami-Dade. El índice de inflacion para 12 meses que terminan en agosto del 2022 es de 10.7%, uno de los más altos en todos los Estados Unidos, según cifras publicadas por U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Además, es de conocimiento público que en otros warehouses sí van a recibir un aumento salarial.

Toda esta situación nos hace sentir muy desmotivados, inconformes y frustrados, pues sentimos que todo nuestro esfuerzo por hacer un trabajo  impecable para los clientes de Amazon es poco valorado. 

Por todo lo expuesto anteriormente nos gustaría que fuera reevaluada la mencionada decisión, con el fin de dar una mejor solución a dicha situación.
