Launched on Mother's Day in the United Kindgom, 22 March 2009, the Million Mums campaign is raising awareness about women dying in pregnancy and childbirth, bringing together an active group of people to campaign for healthcare for pregnant women worldwide and speaking out against needless maternal mortality. The campaign aims to to join together a million mums (or more), raise a million pounds (at least) and provide a united voice to speak out against maternal mortality.
