Rules in Arizona are only subject for review every five (5) years. It (the cast net rule) is currently or will be reviewed in the very near future. We need to act now or it will be another five years before you have a chance to request a change. "We need something more aligned with other states!"

In  Arizona we are restricted to a 4 foot radius cast net. That is the smallest allowed by any state where cast nets are allowed for capturing bait fish.  

• In recent years Michigan changed from 4 foot radius to unrestricted (with restrictions on bodies of water)
• Pennsylvania changed from 3 foot to 10 foot (with restrictions)
• West Virginia changed from 3 foot to 12 foot (the Director of Fisheries in WV said the change had no negative impact)

To change Article 3 Rule R12-4-303 or R12-4-317 requires a review and support from the Arizona Game and Fish Dept. Article 3 rules are up for review currently or in the very near future.
