The Issue

We, the residents, taxpayers, and ratepayers of Temple, Texas, respectfully call for an immediate temporary injunction halting further construction, expansion, and increased utility consumption of data centers operating within our city limits until a full, independent environmental and infrastructure audit is completed and made public.

Temple residents deserve transparency, accountability, and factual verification regarding:

  • Water usage and long-term strain on our aquifers and regional water systems
  • Electrical grid capacity and long-term ratepayer impact
  • Waste heat discharge and environmental impact
  • Chemical storage and runoff protocols
  • Emergency preparedness and fire suppression systems
  • Noise pollution and air quality concerns
  • Health concerns from chemical runoff, air quality, and noise concerns.
  • Tax abatements and long-term fiscal benefit versus infrastructure cost
  • Data centers are industrial-scale facilities. They consume significant water and power, and their operations can affect municipal infrastructure in ways that are not always visible to the public.

Before irreversible strain is placed on our water supply, electrical grid, and emergency services, we request:

1. Immediate Temporary Injunction
Pause new construction, expansions, and additional utility allocation until findings are complete.

2. Independent Third-Party Environmental Audit
A publicly funded but independently conducted audit assessing:

Water withdrawal amounts
Wastewater discharge
Grid impact
Environmental compliance

3. Full Public Disclosure
Release of all agreements, utility contracts, water projections, tax abatements, and environmental impact assessments.

4. Public Hearings
Open, recorded hearings where residents can ask questions and receive documented answers from city officials and corporate representatives.

Temple is not anti-technology. We are pro-transparency, pro-sustainability, and pro-community protection.

Responsible growth requires verified data,  not assumptions.

Until a full and transparent audit confirms that our infrastructure, water supply, and environment are protected, we believe a temporary injunction is the responsible course of action.

Our community deserves answers before consequences.

Sign this petition to demand transparency, accountability, and a temporary pause to protect Temple’s future.
