TODAY: Petition Against Dan Andrews Statue Read in Parliament

In a major development, Moira Deeming MP has today tabled our official petition in the Victorian Parliament to cancel the proposed statue of Daniel Andrews. The Premier now has 30 days to formally respond and answer three key questions:

1: Has work on the statue already commenced?
2: Where is the proposed location?
3: What is the total cost to Victorian taxpayers?

Summary of Petition Points:

  • Statues should not be erected for living politicians; legacies must stand the test of time.
  • Serious unresolved concerns remain about Daniel Andrews’ handling of human rights during lockdowns and the 2013 crash involving a teenager.
  • Taxpayer funds should not be wasted on divisive political monuments during a time of economic hardship.

What's Next?
Once the Premier’s response is received (required within 30 days by law), the petition will be formally debated in Parliament. The debate will run for about 30 minutes, giving us a solid opportunity to put the case forward.

The outcome could hinge on the cross-bench vote. We’ll keep you updated as soon as the Premier responds and the debate date is announced.

Thanks for your support—stay tuned!

Cheers, Jackson
