Big news: Our petition to cancel the Dan Andrews statue is featured in today’s Herald Sun (p9, with a front page promo). MP Moira Deeming read the petition in Parliament on Tuesday 29 July.
It’s now booked for a full debate in the Legislative Council at 5.45pm, Weds 27 Aug.
A huge thanks to the 12,644 Victorians who signed the official petition – using their full name & residential address – and to the many others who reached out but had privacy concerns. And thanks to the almost 17,000 Australians who signed this Change.org petition
What’s next? A full debate in the upper house at 5.45pm, Weds 27 Aug, followed by a vote – either then or at a later date – to decide whether the statue is cancelled or construction continues.
How can you help? The petition is now closed, but you can still email Premier Jacinta Allan (📧 jacinta.allan@parliament.vic.gov.au) and respectfully request she cancels the statue until all outstanding issues relating to Daniel Andrews are fully resolved.
Thank you for standing up, sharing, and making sure your voice is heard. This isn’t over. The debate is coming.
