INTRODUCTION:

There's unfortunately many ingrates-usually tourists who disrespect the Roman dead. Also, many Romans who died in Rome's worst disasters, contributed to its greatest military victories and notable Roman soldiers who unfortunately haven't received a permanent monument or proper tribute.

Some ways that ingrates disrespect the Roman dead include walking over our sacred Roman burial mounds, displaying the corpses of those from the Pompeii eruption in museums, robbing or vandalising Roman graves and not leaving any permanent monuments for significant Roman wars, soldiers or natural disasters.

In this article about the issue, I have elaborated on each way that ingrates disrespect the Roman dead, as well as explained why it's offensive to us Romans and Romanists, (ie. patriots of Rome). Lastly, I have written suggestions about how the Italian government could solve these serious problems...

WALKING ON ROMAN BURIAL MOUNDS:

There are unfortunately some wicked ingrates who take photos of their friends or family triumphantly standing on the Roman burial mounds. This is very offensive to us Romanists and modern Romans for various reasons. It's as though they are celebrating the deaths of our beloved Roman soldiers-the ones who fought to keep our ancestors alive, so that we may be here as we are today. Also, they are walking over the burial mounds as though they are inferior doormats. Absolutely disrespectful!

How would you like it if we walked over the graves of your ancestors? I don't think you would like it very much at all. We Romans and Romanists would feel the same. Maybe the ghosts of our ancestors would walk on you for walking over them. We shall see about that!

SOLUTION:

There should be a sign telling visitors to not walk on the Roman burial mounds and a barrier around them, which doesn't obstruct the view. Anyone who disrespects the Roman dead should receive a heavy fine of around $500.

(WARNING: The following section contains images of people who died in the Pompeii eruption and may be disturbing for many viewers.

DISPLAYING ROMAN DEAD IN MUSEUMS:

The beloved deceased ancestors of ours from the Pompeii eruption unfortunately never received proper burial. Instead, they were stripped from their resting place, without our / their family's permission and displayed as though they are works of art or mere specimens, in museums.

The dead aren't works of art for the public to admire for their amusement or specimens to use for research, but grim reminders of what tradgic event happened to our beloved ancestors-the terrifying snapshots of the traumatic moments leading up to their deaths. It's also a devastating reminder of how nearly the whole of our beloved city, Pompeii was wiped out, on that dark day.

The souls of the dead would want to rest peacefully in their resting place and not be disturbed by strangers moving them or chatting around them. Let them rest in peace for god's sake!

Us Romans and Romanists would suffer from transgenerational trauma from seeing our dead ancestors displayed in museums. It would scar us with flashbacks and nightmares for life.

How would you like it if I removed your ancestors from their graves and displayed them as specimens or works of art in a museum? I am sure you wouldn't like it all. Us Romans and Romanists would feel the same about it too.

SOLUTION:

The Roman dead from the Pompeii eruption should receive proper burial in a graveyard dedicated to them. This way, people can visit them to pay them tribute and not just to use them as works of art purely for their entertainment.

Otherwise, it's like cannabalism. Absolutely disgusting!

SIGNIFICANT ROMAN WARS, SOLDIERS & NATURAL DISASTERS WITHOUT ANY TRIBUTE:

For thousands of years, there have unfortunately been many of Rome's natural disasters worst defeats, greatest military victories and notable Roman soldiers that have never received any permanent monuments or proper tribute.

ROME'S DISASTERS:

Some of Rome's worst natural disasters include the Pompeii eruption and the fires of Rome. Some of Rome's worst defeats include the battle of Cannae, the battle of the Teutoburg forest, the battle of Lake Trasimene, The Battle of Carrhae, the sack of Rome and The Ardeatine Caves Massacre.

Countless innocent Romans were severely injured or massacred. Many were wickedly mocked and tortured or displayed in the most brutal ways. They lost their homes, loved ones and almost everything. Some even commitment suicide, due to grief or trauma from these tradgic events.

ROME'S GREATEST SOLDIERS & MILITARY VICTORIES:

Some of Rome's greatest military victories include the conquests of Caesar, the battle of Watling Street, the battle of Idistaviso, the battle of Zama and Rome's liberation from NAZI Germany.

Some of the greatest military Generals include Germanicus, Julius Caesar, Scipio Africanus and Suentonius Paulinus.

They led Rome to their greatest military victories, avenged some of this city's worst defeats, helped expand The Roman Empire and performed outstanding military feats.

The General, Sempronius is a lesser-known notable Roman who died single-handedly protecting The Emperor, Galba from a barbarian horde as his comrades desserted him.

Video: The Greatest Last-man Stands, in History, including Sempronius Densus:

Another most notable lesser-known Roman is the anonymous soldier who chose to die saving others, instead of fleeing like most people, during the Pompeii eruption. He died facing the volcano with courage and dignity.

Video: How one Roman soldier stood his ground against Mt. Vesuvius, (in the Pompeii eruption):

Why should we care about the Roman dead and fallen soldiers? They are our beloved ancestors. These notable Roman soldiers risked their lives to save our ancestors, so that Rome may still be standing and we may be alive as we are, today. If it weren't for the Romans us and Rome might not even exist. They also helped lead Italy to freedom by protecting it from barbarian invasions and working in the Italian army to defeat the Germans who have ruled us with tyranny for thousands of years.

These Roman soldiers are also awesome role-models who have inspired courage, loyalty, self-sacrifice, honour and other Roman military virtues in others to this day. Also, the Romans had one of the greatest influences on the modern world and brought it civilization.

All these positive legacies that the notable Roman soldiers have left shouldn't be ignored, but celebrated. The Roman soldiers did all this, yet they haven't received any permanent monument or proper tribute. There is no respect or honour in this at all. It's absolutely outrageous & disgraceful.

The notable Roman soldiers don't deserve to be forgotten and dishonoured by receiving no permanent monument like this. They deserve a permanent monument, so that they can be honoured, appreciated, remembered and commemorated.

SOLUTION:

All this is why the Italian government should erect permanent monuments for these notable Roman soldiers. They should also erect ones for Rome's worst defeats, natural disasters and greatest military victories. These monuments should be erected at the Romans' final resting places.

There also should be an annual day of mourning for Rome's fallen soldiers, as well as worst defeats and natural disasters-Also, an annual celebration day for Rome's greatest military Generals and victories.

CONCLUSION:

If we don't act soon, ingrates shall continue to disrespect the Roman dead and the notable ones won't receive proper tribute. The significant Roman soldiers, as well as military victories shall be forgotten, unappreciated and not commemorated. The suffering of the Romans in Rome's worst defeats and natural disasters won't be valued / acknowledged or shared by others, in terms of respect. All this would also make many Romanists and modern Romans also feel disrespected.

You can change all this by remembering to please...

This way, the Roman dead can receive the respect and tribute that they deserve. So that the notable Roman soldiers can be honoured, appreciated, remembered and commemorated. So that the suffering of the Romans' in Rome's worst disasters can be acknowledged and shared in terms of respect. Also, so that by respecting the Romans' deceased ancestors, they in turn feel more respected.

NOTES:

-Some ingrates just come to the Roman burial mounds to get a photo as a souvenir and not pay tribute. Absolutely disrespectful!

-The Roman soldiers bled and risked their lives to defend our ancestors. Their efforts shouldn't go to waste by not receiving a permanent monument or proper tribute.

-The monuments could also educate others about Roman history. This can also remind people of our dark past-giving them a chance to mourn over it and pay their respects.

-Guards should be employed to guard modern graveyards and ancient tombs, at night.

-ROME'S WORST NATURAL DISASTERS:

THE POMPEII ERUPTION:

During the Pompeii eruption, the earth quaked, rocks rained from the sky, homes / people caught ablaze, tsunamis toppled ships and a black cloud of ash quickly swallowed everything in its path. Some people had boulders land on their heads. The whole city of Pompeii was wiped out in around a day.

THE FIRES OF ROME:

During the fires of Rome, around 70% of the city caught on fire and was destroyed. Buildings collapsed on people. Thousands of people caught on fire &/or died. Hundreds of thousands were left homeless. It would have taken centuries for the Romans to rebuild.

-THE WORST WARS IN ROMAN HISTORY:

1. THE BATTLE OF CANNAE was the worst war in Roman history, in terms of the death toll. The battle was between The Romans led by Varro and Carthagians led by Rome's worst enemy, Hannible. What would have been around the size of several modern-sized city suburbs were covered in the Romans’ dead bodies.

2.THE BATTLE OF THE TEUTOBURG FOREST had the worst torture ever done to the Romans by barbarians and personally, is the spookiest war in Roman history. The battle was between the Romans led by Varrus and the Germans led by Rome's worst traitor, Arminius (aka. Herman). The Romans were skinned, boiled, crucified or set on fire alive. Their dead bodies were hung from trees and their heads nailed to tree trunks. Rome lost nearly all the three of its legions.

3. THE BATTLE OF LAKE TRASIMENE was the largest ambush in history. The battle was between Rome and Hannible. The Carthagians charged from behind a hill and pushed the entire Roman army backwards into the lake. Many drowned struggling to swim in the weight of their armour. It ended with nearly the entire Roman army floating dead in the lake. There was probably so much blood-loss that the lake turned red.

4. THE BATTLE OF CARRHAE was possibly one the worst ambushes in Roman history. The battle was between the Romans led by the richest man in Rome/General, Crassus and the Parthians led by Surenus. It was located in dry lands, near Carrhae, Parthia (modern: Harran, Turkey). The Parthian army entirely consisted of archers, on horseback. They completely surrounded the Romans and continously showered them with thousands of arrows. The arrows were endlessly supplied by camels running up and down the back edges of the Parthian army. Around half of the Roman army died. Almost all of the Parthians survived. After the Romans’ defeat, the Parthians forced a Roman to dress as Crassus. Then, Surenus forced them to trail behind the fake Crassus, while marching around the streets of Parthia holding their fellow comrades’ severed heads. He called it ‘Crassus’s Triumph’.

5. THE SACK OF ROME was the most devastating war in Roman history. It was located within the city of Rome. In this war, many innocent Roman citizens were pillaged by invading Gaul/Germanic barbarians led by Alaric/Odoacer. The city was set on fire and vandalised. Also, The Western Roman Empire, (ie. the era of Roman peace & prosperity) ended-plunging the Romans into the beginning of the dark ages.

6. THE ARDEATINE CAVES MASSACRE:

A Roman civilian bombed a NAZI soldier for enforcing tyranny in Rome. The NAZI dictator, Hitler didn't know who to blame, so he sent his soldiers to arrest around 300 innocent Roman civilians to be executed. The soldiers took them by force to the Ardeatine Caves where they forced them to kneel before them and shot them in the head one by one. These were the many loved ones of people who are still alive today.

-ROME'S GREATEST MILITARY VICTORIES:

1. THE CONQUESTS OF CAESAR:
The Roman Dictator/General, Julius Caesar helped begin the spread of The Roman Empire by conquering much of Western Europe. After his death, The Roman Empire would cover Western Europe, Southern Britannia, The Middle East and Northern Africa. If it wasn't for Julius Caesar, this might have never happened.

2. THE BATTLE OF WATLING STREET:
Although this battle was not great in terms of having one of the most brutal tortures ever done to the Romans by barbarians, it ended with personally, Rome’s greatest military stunt ever.

The Roman General, Suetonius Paulinus led a military tactic that helped around 10,000 Romans ‘bull-dozed’ a horde of 200,000 Britannic warriors. That's around 20 times their army's size and a quarter of a million warriors. It was probably the largest army that Rome had ever faced-yet alone defeated. They did all this with their numbers barely unscathed. Only around 400 Romans died. This battle definitely deserves more credit.

3. THE BATTLE OF IDISTAVISO:
The Roman General, Germanicus avenged and defeated Rome's worst traitor, The Germanic Cheif, Arminius (ie. Herman). In the previous battle of Tetounburg Forest, Arminius conducted the most brutal tortures ever done to the Romans by barbarians. The Germanic Cherusci tribe skinned, boiled, ignited and crucified the Romans, alive. Also, they hung them from trees and nailed their heads to tree trunks.

4. THE BATTLE OF ZAMA:
The Roman General, Scipio Africanus defeated Rome's worst enemy, The Carthagian General, Hannibal who defeated Rome several times.

5. ITALY'S VICTORY AGAINST GERMANY:

After being ruled by Germany with tyranny for thousands of years, Italy finally defeated Germany in battle and became an independent country. Sweet revenge.

-THE GREATEST MILITARY GENERALS OF ROME TO INSPIRE YOUR COURAGE, LOYALTY & RELENTLESSNESS:

1. JULIUS CAESAR:
Julius conquered barbarian hordes, throughout Western Europe and began the spread of The Roman Empire.

2. SUETONIUS PAULINUS:
Suetonius avenged one of the most brutal tortures of around 80,000 innocent Roman civilians by the Britannic tribes. He led a battle tactic that helped around 10,000 Romans ‘bull-doze’ around 200,000 of their members. As you can see, the statistics are already staggering.

Only around 400 Romans were killed. On the other hand, around 80,000 Britons died-just as many Romans that were tortured by them and hence vengeance was exacted.

3. GERMANICUS:
Germanicus defeated Rome's worst traitor, The Germanic Cheif, Arminius (ie. Herman) who massacred almost all the Romans in his army and did the most brutal tortures ever done to them.

4. SCIPIO AFRICANUS:
Scipio defeated Rome's worst enemy, The Carthagian General, Hannibal who defeated Rome several times and massacred a record breaking number of Romans.

5. SEMPRONIUS DENSUS:
Sempronius deserves an honourable mention. He was a body-guard of The Roman Emperor, Galba, in battle. He did one of the greatest last-man-stands, in history to protect The Emperor, while his comrades desserted him.

INTRODUZIONE:

CAMMINARE SUI TUMULI ROMANI:

Assolutamente disgustoso!

GUERRE ROMANE SIGNIFICATIVE, SOLDATI E DISASTRI NATURALI SENZA ALCUN TRIBUTO:

Innumerevoli romani innocenti furono gravemente feriti o massacrati.

SIGN THE PETITION ASAP...

It would be more than appreciated.

LEST WE FORGET.

ITALIANO:

VERSIONE LUNGA:

INTRODUZIONE:

CAMMINARE SUI TUMULI ROMANI:

Assolutamente disgustoso!

GUERRE ROMANE SIGNIFICATIVE, SOLDATI E DISASTRI NATURALI SENZA ALCUN TRIBUTO:

Innumerevoli romani innocenti furono gravemente feriti o massacrati.
