Many people, including myself, love the game we know as Minecraft. It is a creative game where you can build anything you desire. You can connect with friends, learn, code and explore. There are so many great things about Minecraft. It encourages people to be creative, and express their imagination through building, but being a regular player, I have noticed that there are barely any female characters in Minecraft, all the villagers are male, and there is only one female mob. The only two actual female characters in the game are Alex and the witch, and Alex is really just a skin. There are no female characters you can interact with, and I don’t think it is equal, nor fair that one of the most popular games have barely any regard for gender equality, or women’s rights. It is quite stereotypical that all villagers must be male, and the fact that the only real female character in the game is a witch is disappointing. Being able to change this factor would result in a better variety of characters, gender equality and would make Minecraft more appealing to female gamers. For all these reasons, this matters to me, and equality should matter as well.
