Keep Waterworks Aquatics in Sierra Madre

Keep Waterworks Aquatics in Sierra Madre
The Issue
Waterworks Aquatics has been the aquatics provider for the City of Sierra Madre for the past nine years. They have proven to be a strong and supportive partner to the City. Waterworks has a stellar reputation in the community of Sierra Madre for providing a wide array of premium aquatic services.
Their current lease agreement ends this year on September 30, 2020. The City Staff has recommended another provider to offer aquatics services to the City. The City Council will meet in September to vote on whether the new provider will take over the facility in October.
Ultimately, the City Council has the final vote as to whether they will accept the Staff’s recommendation or vote to keep Waterworks Aquatics as their provider.
Waterworks passionately believes they should remain as the facility operator for the following reasons (not limited to):
- Nine years of experience as the aquatics provider for the City of Sierra Madre and over 16 years of experience in the aquatics and pool operating industry.
- Since 2012, they have increased the level of community access to the pool by offering a wide array of affordable aquatics programs (e.g. lap swimming, water aerobics, recreation swim, family swim nights, etc.).
- Offered high quality swim lessons with a high rate of progress to children of all ages.
- Showcased the ability to keep the pool open over 75 hours per week, 12 months out of the year for the past nine years.
