Shut Down Vyond/GoAnimate and remove the grounded Barney error, dead meat videos, and etc.
The Issue
Vyond (formerly known as GoAnimate before 2018 and as Go!Animate before 2013) is an American cloud-based video production company. It was founded in 2007 by Alvin Hung and developed by GoAnimate, Inc. The company is headquartered in San Mateo, California. Vyond's presence on platforms such as YouTube and DeviantArt has led to some videos, such as grounded videos and Barney Error videos, which some consider to be of declining quality.
Comedy World is a theme for GoAnimate. It was available until 2019. This theme has been criticized for imitating Seth MacFarlane’s style.
Examples for Vyond/GoAnimate:
- Grounded videos - These videos that mainly focus on a character (mostly from a "baby" show or a cartoon) misbehaving before being disciplined by their parents, guardians, or friends, which is ruining the innocence of childhood favorites such as Caillou and Dora.
- Dead meat videos - Some kind of alternate version of report card days, where the students receive rewards and punishments instead of just a note to their parents.
- Barney Errors/Error videos - these videos about a virus and having evil Barney images as punishments/jumpscares and ruining Barney and other videos they’re ruining cartoons and my childhood!!!!!!
- GoAnimate-styled rant videos - Some rant videos they’re made my GoAnimate, not an actual one.
- Misbehave videos - Some videos primarily feature a character, often from a "baby" show or cartoon, misbehaving at places like Chuck E. Cheese, McDonald’s, etc., similar to Grounded videos.
- Punishment videos - these videos they’re ruining my childhood!!!!!
In the 2020s, Alvin Hung might have shut down Vyond due to criticism of Vyond/GoAnimate until 2029.
YouTube, WildBrain, Nickelodeon, and other companies may remove/ban Caillou, Dora, Barney Error, and other grounded videos when Vyond/GoAnimate closes.
Paramount Global and Nickelodeon have the authority to take down GoAnimate/Vyond videos featuring Dora (getting grounded, receiving punishments, and misbehaving). WildBrain has the ability to remove GoAnimate/Vyond videos featuring Caillou (getting grounded, receiving punishments, and misbehaving). Mattel holds the rights to remove or ban Barney Error videos in the event GoAnimate/Vyond closes.
