Shut Down the Vanier Neighbours / Vanier Voisins Facebook Group

Shut Down the Vanier Neighbours / Vanier Voisins Facebook Group
The Issue
This group was initially created with the noble purpose of connecting community members, offering a platform where everyone could share thoughts, exchange helpful information, and build a stronger neighborhood. Unfortunately, it has veered far from this intended mission. Instead of fostering unity, it has trenched itself into a divisive entity, focusing its efforts on targeting one specific church, the Capital City Bikers' Church (155 Carillon Street),its congregation, and the vital services they extend to our community.
The church in question provides essential ministry, healing, food and support services to numerous vulnerable members of our Vanier community. The church provides critically needed ministry, love, and compassion to people that are suffering. These services are not just beneficial but are crucial for many who heavily rely on them for daily sustenance, support, and hope. In a neighborhood where a significant segment of the population faces various hardships, this support and ministry acts as a lifeline, ensuring a better quality of life and a ray of hope for many.
Allowing a community group to continuously single out and attack an organization that plays such a pivotal role is not only unjust but also detrimental to the fabric of our community. There's a need for platforms that genuinely contribute to building community bonds, not breaking them down.
We must urge Facebook to take action by shutting down this group. This measure will help restore the initial values of empathy and support that community groups are supposed to embody. Facebook must prioritize the well-being of communities over groups that pave their way through negativity and unwarranted aggression.
Please sign this petition to stand with our community and support the closure of the Vanier Neighbours / Vanier Voisins group on Facebook. This will help safeguard the supportive and nurturing environment that our neighborhood needs.
