This personal account begins in the heartland of Georgia, USA, with a friend who is experiencing mental and emotional distress from an online fanpage known as 'Daddy Williams.' There is clear evidence that cyberbullying and online harassment can lead to serious effects on mental health, including stress, anxiety, and depression (American Journal of Public Health, 2014).

My friend's pain only underscores the magnitude of these studies. The 'Daddy Williams' fanpage is directly contributing to my friend’s declining mental health and social well-being. Trauma researchers suggest that cyber-victimization events are more likely to result in post-traumatic stress disorder (Barnes et al., 2017). For the sake of my friend, and others who may be silently suffering the same distress, it is high time for action.
